Volunteer
Why Volunteer?
There are so many ways we can help people in need, but none are more effective and make a greater impact then the gift of time. Volunteering presents a unique opportunity to graciously give of your time to others, showing each encountered person love they can never receive from a material gift. The reward is two fold– the change in the life of the people the volunteer donates time to help, and the change in the volunteer’s life, which occurs when you act outside of oneself. Volunteering is not just beneficial for a singular person; volunteering with a group is an excellent community builder. Laboring together to help promote a common goal strengthen the bond of a group beyond community building exercises and everyday projects. Consider Matthew 28:19-20, the great commission, as our calling to give of our time to further the gospel.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in [1] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Volunteering is an outlet to help take the gospel to the nations. Please consider volunteering and laboring with us as we live out the calling of the Gospel in the Third Ward.
Commitment
Commitment is paramount to a successful impact of volunteering, especially in the Third Ward. With so many participants having broken homes, having encountered more often then not fleeting commitment from family and friends, it is imperative for those who are in their lives to show love and commitment to them. While commitment levels may vary between programs and opportunities, we would love
