Why Volunteer?

There are so many ways we can help people in need, but few are more effective and make a greater impact than the gift of time. Volunteering presents a unique opportunity to graciously share your time with others, demonstrating love through the power of presence. The reward is two fold– the change in the lives of those served, and the change in the ones serving. Volunteering is not just beneficialfor an individual; volunteering with a group is an excellent community builder. Laboring together to help promote a common goal strengthens the bond of a group similar to community building exercises and group projects. Consider Matthew 28:19-20, the great commission, as our calling to give of our time to further the gospel.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Volunteering is an outlet to help take the gospel to the nations. Please consider volunteering and laboring with us as we live out the calling of the Gospel in the Greater Third Ward.

Commitment is paramount to a successful impact of volunteering, especially in the Third Ward. With so many participants coming from broken homes, having witnessed the fleeting commitment from family and friends, itis imperative for those who are in their lives to show them love and commitment.
