Capital Campaign

The FORGE is seeking funding from generous churches, foundations, corporations and individuals to support our $6-million capital campaign to build a new Ministry Center that will cater to the under-resourced and under-served families of Houston’s Third Ward.  Under the leadership of Jack Blanton and Elizabeth Wareing, campaign co-chairs, The FORGE has already raised 62% of the campaign goal as of April 2009.

This beautiful facility will be a warm and welcoming reprieve and in many respects will even look like a real home—something many of our constituents desperately need and have never had. It is designed intentionally to enable these community children and families to overcome the culture of crime, violence and drugs threatening to suffocate the inner city.  Based on the organization’s three-year operational projections, the new center will allow The FORGE to better fulfill its mission by:

  • Adding six new programs which would serve 600 more clients
  • Increasing the number of clients served in current programs from 1,000 to 1,400
  • Improving efficiency by reducing current transportation costs and streamlining programs
  • Creating a home-like atmosphere and culture for those from broken homes
  • Establishing a community flagship that welcomes all regardless of race or religion
